Insightpro/enterprise Job and time management
The heritageInsight® began development in 1996 as "SDS 1.0". Its initial feature set was composed almost entirely of job ticket management and reporting tools. The name has changed twice since then and the scope of functions has expanded dramatically.
of Insight® is rooted in job and time management.
Insight handles jobs as mini-projectsInsight® treats a job as a collection of — usually assigned as one employee per job per working day. The tickets are individual time-based events comprised of the number of hours worked by the user on that day.
The non-time-based items like expenses, inventory, documents, and notes are not tied to a specific job ticket. They're meta-information about the job as a whole and are available in the view from any ticket on the job.: each job can have an unlimited number of tickets
, involved employees
, expenses
, inventory items
, invoices
, notes, etc. The job is used to aggregate the time spent, expenses incurred, inventory used and income realized in a concisely organized fashion so you can see who did what, which parts were used, how much money was spent, and most importantly, did we make any money?
Job information flows directly to invoicing (for time billing), inventory (for automatic accounting) and reports that help management identify procedural issues. It's workflow process control on a company-wide scale. And when you control the process, you can achieve Insight.
